They will be facilitating a salon to stimulate discussions to learn more about human trafficking and ways to eradicate modern day slavery
They are asking for a general head count (they are planning to provide refreshments), so if you need more information about our meeting location or if you plan to attend please contact us.

Come Friday, October 22, at 7pm to the Meadowlark to hear the music of Red Fox Run! There is a $5 cover charge for this 21 and over show, but all proceeds go to Love146.

Volunteers in Action, a local service-oriented, non-profit organization, is hosting a social justice conference in Denver on September 18th. The conference will cover many topics along the lines of environmental concerns, human trafficking, immigration, and domestic poverty and features many keynote speakers including one of the leaders of our task force, Rachelle Brent. We will also have a booth at the event to answer questions about Love146 and our task force and spread the word about child sex trafficking and exploitation. Feel free to stop by and say hello!
For more information about the conference, please visit the Zealous Love website.

The Not For Sale Campaign’s Colorado Chapter is hosting a walkathon on Saturday, July 3 to raise funds and awareness about modern-day slavery. The walk, which will take place at City Park in Denver, will be 2.7 miles meant to represent the 27 million children, women and men in slavery today and will begin at 8:30 am (registration starts at 7:30 am).
Our Task Force has put together a team to represent Love146 at this event and we’d love for you to join us! If you’re interested in taking part in our team, you can register here (detailed instructions on how to register, including how to join a team, are located here). There is a $35 registration fee which includes the purchase of a t-shirt from Not For Sale for this event. We do ask that those walking with us purchase a Love146 t-shirt from the new Love146 store (or their old store) or contact Rachelle to buy a patch to pin to a t-shirt you already own to wear on the day of the event. This gives us an opportunity to represent Love146′s presence in the Denver area and the proceeds from the t-shirt sales in the Love146 stores go straight to Love146′s programs!
If you’re interested in supporting us, but would rather not walk in the event, you can also pledge funds for our team here. Any amount is greatly appreciated!
See you on July 3rd!
Love146′s most recent fundraiser is called Tread on Trafficking and is a two-month event designed to allow people to raise money by running, swimming, or walking for Love146′s programs. Chris, one of the leaders of our task force, is participating in this fundraiser and will be running the Bolder Boulder on May 31st in honor of Love146. He is also including his training activity before then and his goal is to raise $2000.
You can find Chris’s support page here. All proceeds go directly to Love146′s programs, so be sure to show Chris some support!

In partnership with Speak Up For Them, our task force is planning a gas station outreach on May 22nd. During this event, groups of volunteers from our task force will be heading to gas stations along the I-25 corridor to hang up posters from CoNEHT and talk to the gas station employees about the fight against human trafficking and how America’s major highways (I-25 being one of them) are used to transport human cargo.
We plan on beginning at 9:30 am and will meet up again after each of the groups has finished with their assigned gas stations for lunch and a debriefing. If you’re interested in participating or just have questions, please contact us for more information.
In honor of the one year anniversary of the opening of the Round Home, Love146 has made a new video!

Another local organization that seeks to combat child sex trafficking and exploitation, iEmpathize, is offering an opportunity to use their new gallery space as a way to bring attention to this form of modern-day slavery.
The iEmpathize Gallery, located at 949 Walnut Street in downtown Boulder, is home of the Empathy Experience, an immersive mixed media art exhibit on child trafficking.
IMMERSE, hosted at the iE Gallery, is a 30-day continuous awareness and fund-raising event celebrating freedom. Through the month of April, groups and individuals can participate by signing up for a 24-hour time slot to occupy the space as a type of vigil and raise funds for the issue. You, your group of friends, or a small group from your faith community can participate to raise awareness, monthly support for iE, and funds for our field partners and projects.
The three goals of the event are to raise awareness about the topic of child sex trafficking and exploitation, raise monthly support for iEmpathize’s programs, as well as raising funds for their partnership with Truckers Against Trafficking. iEmpathize is currently working on producing a media project that will train the trucking industry on how to recognize child trafficking in the U.S.
Rachelle, one of our taskforce leaders, has set up a time slot for us to participate next Thursday, April 29th beginning at 4 pm. Feel free to stop by at any time, however keep in mind that the gallery doors will be locked at 9 pm. For more details about the event or to sign up to sit in for a block of time at the gallery, please contact us. We hope to see you there!
